Thermal Stone Workshops with Greg Morling 2010

The Pure Bliss 2-day hot stone workshop will cover all the essential knowledge needed to complete a 60 minute and 90 minute thermal stone treatment that will greatly expand the range of treatments you can offer in your Salon, Spa or Clinic.

This 1-day workshop will be useful for remedial massage therapists who are considering using thermal (hot) stone in their clinic and those therapists who already use thermal stone and would like to expand their clinical repertoire.

It is recognised that thermal stone reduces the stress a massage therapists may experience in their working hands and eliminate discomfort your client may experience from deep frictions used without thermal stone.

Thermal stone can be utilised as much more than a mere relaxation tool in your practice and this workshop will show you techniques that will be so useful in helping you achieving outstanding therapeutic results. We will cover a range of musculoskeletal conditions including wry neck, shin splints, sciatica and shoulder conditions.

The importance of the Iliopsoas musclein relation to back pain and a broadrange of other musculoskeletalconditions is well known.

This workshop will;

• examine the many roles of the iliopsoas muscle
• supply sound information on this muscle's position and function
• cover musculoskeletal conditions related to this muscle when it is dysfunctional and/or shortened
• explore the role of the iliopsoas in survival response
• demonstrate a range of functional assessment procedures for the iliopsoas
• practical clinical approaches for the massage therapist to treat the dysfunctional iliopsoas muscle
• demonstrate a number of stretches that the client can use at home in order to assist the release of the iliopsoas muscle
